Theme: Mockumentary.
I feel like a Mockumentray would be great to tell the story of Cardistry, since it wouldn't be taking itself so seriously, and it would attract the type of people that would end up doing cardistry themselves.
This is just an idea which can be edited, changed and shaped to match the wishes of the community. Would be dope to have this developed by the community.
Sort of like this, but more artsy.
First Part
Concept: Shots only of hands.
Opening shot
We see different shots of hands. Worker hands. Classy hands. Normal hands.
They are shown at first static, then are shown in motion.
Voiceover: Hands are everywhere. Of all types and sizes, shapes and colours. They can bear wounds or scars. Can hold objects or living beings. One can use them to help himself or others, create or destroy. Hands (short pause) interesting, aren't they?
Protagonist introduction
Voiceover: This is me.
Baby hands shot. Then his hands start gripping different objects. An entire history of the kid's childhood is seen through shots of his hands growing older and older. A deck of cards can be noticed appearing more often.
Example of shot: The camera moves from left hand to right hand as one hand is holding a girl's fingers, the other is performing one handed cuts.
This introduction is basically a preview of the entire movie (up until the punchline) told through first person p.o.v. of the hands.
The introduction ends once we see the protagonist's fingers getting cut by someone else (an example of a punchline).
Freeze shot and Voiceover: But let's start from the beginning...
Second Part
Frontal shot of boy staying in the middle of the street starring into the camera.
VOICEOVER: I was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Why Wisconsin? I dunno. You should ask my parents.
Parents appear into shot, on the left and right side, holding his hands.
My parents are simple people.
Different shots of parents doing regular things around the house, then doing the sexy things in their bedroom.
VOICEOVER: I don't know much about them. They're not important to my story. They do their things, I do mine. It's how things are in our house.
(As the voiceover ends, the door to their bedroom closes as we see the mother take off her blouse in front of her husband.)
Shot of room, kid is staying the middle starring into the camera.
VOICEOVER: This is my room. When I'm in here I practice the piano, paint, make music, exercise, hit on girls online, watch memes, study and most of all, do cardistry.
We see shots of the boy doing all these things. Ending shot goes black.
VOICEOVER: I don't go out much... (leave silence)
CUT TO
Last year I spent two thousand three hundred and fourteen seconds outside (LARGE letters appear on screen, on top of the background). That's almost 32 minutes (LARGE numbers on screen). I would've stayed out less, but... there was an accident.
We see the boy running towards his home and tripping on someone's dog. The accident looks pretty nasty. The entire shot lasts 15 seconds and culminates with his hitting the ground.
For sure you can mate :) !
hey Biz can I work on this film too
