Concept: The heart of one magician is in fact the deck that he is performing with.
Ideas
If he is tired, the deck appears to be used.
When he is showered and fresh, the deck is in crisp condition.
If he is to break a piece of a card and give it to a spectator, he has literally given that spectator a piece of his heart.
In return, if a girl breaks his heart, part of the deck can be found bent or showing tears.
If he is out jogging, the deck of cards is sweaty and unable to work with.
When somebody shuffles his deck badly, he literally feels this on his skin and we can see rashes appearing on his body.
If one is to mark with a marker on the cards, what that individual has written is forever written on the magician's heart.
The more capable he is at manipulating the deck, the better he can flourish with his emotions, his state of being, his intuition.
If he falls in love for someone, he cannot find his deck anywhere and that is because his deck of cards is at that person.
A step further
This can apply not only to decks of cards but to any other instrument out there.
There can be a world where when people realize what they love to do, be it playing the violin, piano or guitar to building cars, making beer or watching TV, their heart is transformed into the object of their hobby (can be a pen, feather, remote control, french key, etc.).
If you are to change from playing the violin to playing the piano, you can sacrifice the violin in exchange for the piano or keep both and have your heart split in two. Plenty of opportunities here for philosophical touches.
People that are together can share their heart with one another.
Another way of having sex is allowing someone else to use your instrument, to use your heart, being able to instantly feel everything that person is doing with your heart.
Sketch Idea
Humoristic punchline to a sketch: After giving bits and pieces of cards to different spectators, at the end of the video we see each piece having transformed into a small piece of flesh (heart).
Patter
You can present this idea at the end of a show, when you are about to gift someone the card they have selected. With a story, the card you give them catches a more deeper meaning.
Potential: Sketch, nuvella/short-story.
