Concept: A card routine that looks like a one coin routine. I have always liked how pretty coin magic can be and especially one coin routines how pretty having the coin appear and reappear can be... but I'm terrible at coin magic. So! I have been working for a little bit on how to do a routine like a "One coin routine", but with cards by using a lot of palming, hand washing bs and lots of bad angled moves! So far it isn't good, but here is what I have so far in my one card routine. What you need: 1 card
Set up: none
Phase one
Hold one card in a snap change position with your first 2 fingers but higher up on the card (instead of the bottom right use the top right corner) as you wave your left hand over the card your right 2nd finger pulls the card in (again much like the snap change) and along the thumb until it lands right into tenkai palm, making it look like a nice clean vanish if your timing it good with your left hand. The vanish can be done straight on to the spectator as long as your keep your fingers still after the vanish and keep the card pointed at the spectators eyes. In this position the card will be completely covered by the first 2 fingers making it look like nothing can be held in the hand.
The first hand washing sequence!
...show the left hand empty after the vanish then slide it back as to grab the right wrist. In the process, grab the card from tenkai in the right hand into Cop Palm in the left hand and then show the right hand completely empty. The grabbing the card is pretty simple because you can simply drop the card from tenkai directly into the cop as your pass your hand under it. The grabbing of the wrist not only works with your hands switching places but it covers your angles a lot better then just having the card copped. after showing the left hand reverse the action you just did but instead of doing a tenkai, grab the card into your right hands palm as your wave your right hand over to show the left hand empty one more time. Here's where things get weird. take your left hand turn it palm down on the back of the right hand and pull the palmed card inward with your pinky to reverse the palm (aka stick it away from the hand instead of pressed against it.) any movement there should be covered by the left hand on the back of the right hand now. Reach your right thumb under the card and pinch the card between your thumb and your right 1st finger, this will produce the card. While doing that also wave the left hand over the front of the right hand where the card is produced. This will create a waving kind of production effect where there was nothing then the hand waves over and a card is there.
Phase two
This one is pretty similar but its sideways. After the last production show the card both sides and then place it in the right hand with the first two fingers holding the card in the middle of the card. do the same vanish as before but this time you'll end in longitudinal palm(? sideways tenkai) between the thumbs joint and the hand. The nice thing about this palm if that if you bend your thumb in your can press the card against your hand which allows your to show a lot more of your hand before the card can be seen making everything look a lot cleaner and allowing your more movement of your hand. even if you point your hand at the spectator just touch your first finger to your thumb and the card is hidden behind the finger. every other finger can be spread and nothing can be seen.
This time instead of hand washing were just gonna make the card come back in a beautiful way. Rub your right hands fingers on the left hand and lay the left hand perfectly flat. wave over the hand with your right hand and eventually move the hand forward and drop the card onto the hand. continue your circling wave and bring the hand back before revealing the card is there. this makes it look like the card is being produced from your fingers not your palm.
Phase 3
This phase doesn't exist yet as I don't know that many card vanishes, but I will try and make this a full routine if I ever can.
