Candy that tastes like card sleights.
Questions
0. How does this Candy look?
1. What taste do you think the Triumph Effect has? The Ambitious Effect? Oil and Water?
2. What if this Candy would be a sort of drug which enables you, as a laymen, to be able to professionally perform magician effects? What would the draw-back of the drug be?
3. How would this candy affect someone who has no knowledge of magic whatsoever? Would they start performing effects with random objects that mimic the original effect?
4. What happens with the person if he/she wants to perform something else than just what the drug offers?
A step further
A world where there is a drug whose short-term effects give you the knowledge necessary to perform different sort of acts such as: plumbing, constructing a stage, dancing (@wedding), talking smoothly with a woman.
These drugs would not enhance your mental abilities, they would just give you the necessary information to perform that one act, for example: fixing your toilet, sewing a dress, restarting the Windows on your computer, cooking Ratatouille.
In this world jobs would become more and more scarce, people resorting to short-term effect drugs to fix small issues. When it would come to performing more intricate acts (such as building a house, putting up a magic show) more individuals would come together and take the drug at the same time.
Story Ideas
The story focuses on a magician turned drug dealer that makes these substances. Gets busted, arrested, then is forced to help the DEA in putting a stop to this absurd new fashion and restoring the world back to its place.
The story focuses on a kid that has never taken these drugs but can somehow know how to do all these things all the other people need drugs for. The plot spirals from rock 'n roll to drama as we witness the protagonist make his way around glamour parties, tv show's and private jet shows to addiction, loss and suicide.
